Military Family Care Initiative - Yard Project
Our club has recently become involved with First Lady Mary Pawlenty's Military Family Care Initiative. This initiative allows Military Families to contact community organizations for help with projects around the house. There are many projects such as yard work, painting, and small home repairs that the families of deployed soldiers can get done with a little help from organizations like our club.
Through this initiative, we were able to help a local family by donating our time and some supplies to a small yard project that a military wife needed done while her husband was deployed. She was unable to do the work herself as she has two small children to take care of. We even had the help of some of our member's kids and a Henry Sibley Key Club member. It was a very rewarding project, and we hope to get more requests from families soon!
